The app is being prepared for launch. The contact channel will be activated before the app becomes publicly available.
Library on your device
Foliore imports the EPUBs you select and stores books, covers, metadata, and settings in the app's private storage. Preparing and exporting a book creates an edited copy; the original EPUB is preserved. Removing the app or its data may delete your local library. Keep up-to-date copies of your books and important data outside Foliore. Sync also propagates changes and deletions and does not replace an independent backup.
Optional sync
When you connect Google Drive, you authorize the storage of books, covers, metadata, history, and AI cover instructions in Foliore's hidden app data folder, using the drive.appdata scope. Your account name, a random installation identifier, and your device model are used to identify the connection and changes. If you enable automatic sync, transfers may take place in the background. Folder sync uses only the folder you select in Android; your provider may sync it with other services.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a book and syncing records the deletion on your other devices. Previous versions and files from interrupted operations are retained for at least 30 days before they become eligible for cleanup; cleanup takes place during subsequent syncs. Unresolved conflicts are preserved. Disconnecting Drive stops the connection but does not delete the backup. The option to delete the backup removes the remote library and retains a technical marker with the date and a random installation identifier to prevent older syncs from restoring deleted data. Files you have exported and messages you have sent remain at your chosen destinations and must be deleted in those services. An offline operation only reaches other devices after syncing.
Search and artificial intelligence
When you request a metadata or cover search, search terms such as the title, author, and ISBN are sent to the services queried, including Open Library, Internet Archive, and the National Library of France (BnF). When you request generation through OpenAI, your prompt and the metadata used in the request are sent directly to OpenAI with the key you configured. The provider may charge for usage; Foliore does not include credits. Do not include personal or confidential information in prompts. Responses may be incorrect and should be reviewed before applying them. Foliore does not send the full contents of the EPUB to generate these results. Providers also receive technical data needed for the connection, such as your IP address, and apply their own retention policies.
Kindle and sharing
Sending by email transmits the prepared EPUB, subject, message, and sender and recipient addresses to the SMTP server you configured, using TLS with certificate verification. Sharing through Android grants the selected app access to the exported file. Nothing is sent without an action on your part.
Google Play purchases
Unlocking an unlimited catalog uses Google Play's billing system. Google processes the payment; Foliore does not receive your card details. The app receives the purchased product, purchase status, and a signed receipt with a transaction identifier to verify and restore access. This receipt remains in private storage, outside the library's backup and sync, until it is replaced, revoked, or removed along with the app's data. The billing SDK may send Google technical data and diagnostics about the purchase process, in accordance with Google Play policies. Restoring a purchase uses your Google Play account, which may differ from your Drive account.
Credentials and security
API keys and SMTP credentials are protected locally with encryption and Android Keystore. They are not part of the synced library. Android's automatic app data backup is disabled. The protection of your Google account, email account, and apps that receive exports also depends on those services' settings. There is no guarantee that failures or data loss are impossible.
Advertising and requests
This version includes no ads and no behavioral analytics SDK of its own. Foliore does not sell personal data. You can remove keys, disconnect integrations, delete books, and delete the backup in settings. For support, data corrections, or reports of AI-generated content, use the contact provided in the app; include only the necessary information when writing. The reporting form sends only the text you enter to Foliore's service. No book, prompt, or image is attached automatically. Reports received are stored for up to 90 days for review; technical connection data may also be processed by the hosting provider.
This website
This website does not include advertising tools, behavioral analytics, or data collection forms. Fonts and images are served together with the page. The hosting provider may process technical access logs, such as IP address, date, and requested page, for operation and security. Your theme preference is saved only in this browser so it can be retained for future visits.
Changes
Material changes to data flows will be reflected in this policy and the app's disclosures before they become available.
